The Williamson County Genealogical Society meets online on the third Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. A different topic is discussed each month, providing an excellent resource to those interested in learning about their family history.
Join us on Sept. 17 for Golden State Killer/DNA, Genealogy and Law Enforcement. Alan Rabe will give a brief background of how DNA was used to find the Golden State Killer. The main presentation will be an hour-long recorded presentation by Blaine Bettinger. He is an industry expert and has consulted with several law enforcement agencies. You will find this is the most factual, straightforward presentation on this current topic. News articles are always sensationalized and written by people who really do not understand the field. This is an opportunity to get the facts from an expert. Blaine is the author of Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy, and he also is the originator of the Shared cM Project.
WCGS meetings and workshops are FREE and open to the public! All interest and experience levels are welcome!
