Williamson County Genealogical Society Meeting

September 15, 2022 @ 7:30 pm 9:00 pm

The Williamson County Genealogical Society meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Public Library. Meetings are open to the public, where a different topic is discussed each month, providing an excellent resource to those interested in learning about their family history.

Join us Sept. 15 for Giving Back Their Names—Identifying Human Remains Using Investigative Genetic Genealogy, presented by Rhonda Kevorkian. This presentation is an introduction to the DNA Doe Project (DDP) and how they are helping give names back to the many John and Jane Doe cold cases across the world. Learn how DDP works and the process their Investigative Genetic Genealogists utilize to produce an investigative lead. Get a look at a few solved cases as well as an active case. Finally, learn what you can do to help solve unidentified remains cases and restore the identity of a Doe.
