Most City offices to delay opening Monday

Due to forecasted inclement weather, City of Round Rock offices, as well as the Clay Madsen Recreation Center and Round Rock Public Library, will open at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11.

Garbage and recycling pickup are expected to take place as scheduled.

The National Weather Service (NWS) advised that “overnight, mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures could lead to some slick spots on roadways” Monday morning. City crews worked Sunday to treat bridges ahead of the evening drop in temperatures.

The City strongly recommends residents and businesses turn off their irrigation/sprinkler systems to avoid damage and freezing during winter weather. Runoff from sprinklers can cause hazardous conditions on roadways.

Now is a good time to make sure you are prepared for the hazards a winter storm can bring by visiting FEMA’s Winter Weather webpage

The City also recommends visiting warncentraltexas.org to sign up for emergency alerts if you have not already done so.
