The birthday party will be held at GattiLand, 1112 North IH 35, at 5 p.m. Monique Johnson, a single-parent displaced by the fire, not only suffered the loss of the families personal belongings, but also her 5-year-old son Kyndal’s birthday gifts.

Round Rock Operation Blue Santa is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers and employees of the Round Rock Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation Departments. The organization not only assists more than 500 needy families during the holidays, but they also serve the needs of the community year-round through sponsorships.

“We’re here for the citizens in their time of need, whether it’s for Blue Santa or any other life-altering event where they would require assistance,” said Officer Vinnie Cherrone who leads the group.

The birthday party is one example of how the organization reaches out to residents and assists families in various circumstances. Currently, Round Rock Operation Blue Santa is collecting toy and monetary donations in preparation for Toy Delivery Day, on Dec. 19.
