Rockin’ Kids Club: UT Computer Science Coding Workshop

The words UTCS Roadshow are shown next to a silhouette of a robot dogElementary students, meet some University of Texas Computer Science students and get some hands-on experience coding. Yes, it’s science week at the Round Rock Public Library!

Our guest teachers will guide us as we work through self-paced online coding exercises.

The library has a very limited supply of computers and tablets to share. We request attendees bring a laptop or tablet for their own use during the program, if at all possible, so we can accommodate as many guests as possible. The library has free WiFi available for everyone’s devices.

Younger elementary students, especially pre-readers, may find this activity a little frustrating. We will have some alternative activities in the room. We also believe than anyone can code using this simple program, and we hope that the adult caregivers at this session bring their confidence and sense of adventure so they can help.
