Join us on Facebook Live Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm for our virtual Summer Reading Challenge kick-off event! Tune in to learn how the Reading Challenge works this year, online programming, and more! https://www.facebook.com/RoundRockPublicLibrary

This summer, let’s read together! If our Round Rock Community reaches 1 million points in our READSquared online program, the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library will donate $250 each to the Round Rock Serving Center and to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Points are achieved by reading and doing missions.
How the Summer Reading Challenge Works
Step 1: Register
Register online at www.roundrocktexas.gov/summerreading. Everyone needs a brand-new account. Setting up a family account allows families to update several readers at the same time.
Step 2: Set a personal goal for reading.
The default is set at 1000 points (about 16 hours of reading), but you can set your own goal this summer.
Step 3: Read (or listen to a reader).
Count either minutes or books – – 1 minute=1 point or 1 book=15 points It’s okay to switch back and forth.
Step 4: Record
Log the time spent reading or listening from June 1– August 1. Also, consider doing missions like doing something good for the community or trying one of the library’s online resources. You may also submit a book review in READSquared. (missions and reviews=10 points each)
Step 5: Reward
Starting at 300 points, you are eligible to be entered for drawing prizes for gift certificates to Round Rock Donuts, Palermo’s and more. Our generous Friends group has provided funds to purchase gift certificates to our past supporters. At 1000 points, you’ll receive a Book Nook Buck redeemable for one book in the library. And if we all reach 1 million points together, $500.00 will help our community!
