Black History Month: Historic Bus Tour

The Round Rock Black History Organization invites you to celebrate Black History Month with the 5th Annual Historic Bus Tour, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. Stops on the tour include the Sweet Home Mural and the African-American Experience in Waco (The Baylor University Gospel Music Preservation Project, Lev’s Gathering Place at Baylor, and the Greenwood Cemetery, Waco’s historic African-American cemetery).

Tour begins and ends at Sweet Home—The Pinnacle of Praise, 3200 Sunrise Road, Round Rock, Texas, 78665. Light breakfast and light lunch are included.

Ticket prices: Adults and children, ages 13 and up: $30; Children, ages 12 and younger: $25.

Black History Month Art Reception

In celebration of Black History Month, the Round Rock Public Library and the Round Rock Black History Organization will host an exhibit by artist Melissa Fontenette-Mitchell in the gallery area throughout the month of February. Join us for an art reception, Thursday, Feb. 6, 6 to 8 p.m., Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room A. Light refreshments will be served.

The artist will speak about her black-and-white photography exhibit, From Slavery, through Civil Rights to the White House. All are welcome.
