Rockin’ Kids Club: LEGO(R) free-build (ages 5+)

It’s LEGO® week at the Round Rock Public Library.  Elementary students, come build and share.

The Library hosts activities for elementary students Monday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. The regular rotation of activities is:

  • 1st Monday: LEGO® Free-Build
  • 2nd Monday: Art Club
  • 3rd Monday: Science Club
  • 4th Monday: Game On!

Tween LEGO® Robotics (ages 8-12) (preregistration)

Join us at 4:30 pm in Meeting Room A to build and explore with LEGO® WeDo robotic kits. Team up to build a Lego WeDo soccer showdown tournament. Participants will use the LEGO® WeDo construction set to assemble and program a soccer goal with moving goalie, a kicker using motors and sensors, and mechanized cheering fan. Program your robot to play a soccer game against other teams of builders.

 

Please Note:

This program is for children ages 8-12 only. Limited seating for caregivers and younger siblings who wish to observe will be available in the back of the room. Only attending participants must preregister. Online registration is required and starts Thursday, March 27, 2019 at 9 am. Those who arrive more than five minutes late may forfeit their space(s). If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation via Eventbrite or call 512-218-3275. Participants will build a Smart Spinner, a spinner mechanism that is motorized to spin a top and release it, while using a motion sensor to turn the motor on and off.
