Veterans Day Celebration

Join us for the Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, November 11th at 11am at Flag Plaza at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park!
This year’s ceremony will feature guest speakers Alain Babin and a representative from the Army Futures Command, along with a special program recognizing veterans.
After the ceremony, enjoy a free lunch and live music from North of Luck.
Yonders Point and Flag Plaza can be found on the north side of Old Settlers Park, which is located at 3103 Aten Loop.
Guest Speaker: Alain Babin
Alain pronounced “Alan,” was born in France. He married his high school sweetheart, Rosie in Del Rio, Texas. While there, they both enlisted in the U.S. Army as a husband-and-wife team. Together, they have two children, Alan a wounded combat veteran and Christy, a businessperson with Underwriters Laboratory.
After his enlistment in the Army, Alain pursued a career in law enforcement, spanning thirty-four years. He served with three different departments in California and Texas. His final twenty-five years were dedicated to the Round Rock Police Department, where he climbed the ranks and retired as an Assistant Chief of Police in 2019.
Throughout his career, Alain has been actively involved in various volunteer organizations. He has supported veterans’ organizations, the Police Special Olympics, and Stephanie Myers car shows, all of which raise funds for local charities. Currently, he serves as a Director with the Lakeway Police Foundation and the Lakeway Civic Corporation.
Alain also holds a Master of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and is a graduate of the National FBI Academy.
