General Election Information
The City of Round Rock holds annual general elections on the May uniform election date (first Saturday in May) each year. City Council members are elected for 3 year staggered terms.
Council term expiration dates:
May 2023: Mayor, Place 1 and Place 4
May 2024: Place 3 and Place 5
May 2025: Place 2 and Place 6
Internet Posting Requirements
Section 2051.152 of the Government code requires the City of Round Rock to post the date and location of the next election for City Council, as well as the requirements and deadline to run for office, continuously for one year prior to the next election. - May 6, 2023 – Date of next General Election.
- January 18, 2023 – First day to file for a place on the ballot.
- February 17, 2023 – Last day to file for place on the ballot and Last Day to order General Election.
- Polling locations in Round Rock for the 2023 election are yet to be determined.

Candidate Information
Applications for place on the May 6, 2023 General Election ballot will be accepted at Round Rock City Hall, 221 E. Main Street, Round Rock, Texas, only during the filing period beginning Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 8 AM and ending Friday, February 17, 2023 at 5 PM, as prescribed by the Texas Election Code.
Candidate packets are available for download at the link below. Paper copies are available for pick up Monday – Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM at the City Clerk’s Office located at Round Rock City Hall, 221 E. Main Street, Round Rock, Texas.

Semi-Annual Campaign Finance Reports
- Candidates are required by state law to file semi-annual campaign finance reports (Form C/OH) with the City Clerk’s office. These reports are due January 15th and July 15th of each year, and reporting requirements end when a candidate has filed a final report with the City Clerk. Retention for semi-annual reports is date of filing + 2 years (Per section 254.040 of Texas Election Code), and therefore only those reports in effect are shown below. Reports are organized below by month and year they were due and newest to oldest.
