Biz.ability: Keeping Your Business Legal

The Round Rock Public Library and Austin SCORE will be offering a series of free Zoom workshops for entrepreneurs and small business owners on Fridays from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Sept. 24 through Oct. 29. SCORE is a nonprofit dedicated to helping small businesses and entrepreneurs start, develop and maintain their businesses.
These free timely workshops, presented by recognized experts and practitioners, will cover a variety of issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs including finances, marketing, and strategic planning.
Join us on Oct. 1 for Keeping Your Business Legal, presented by Darin Siefkes. Every new business needs advice from an attorney to avoid legal problems while operating. When you set up your business to make careful choices. Darin designed this workshop to be interactive to allow you to ask questions to better understand these and other legal concepts:
• Why do we form an entity?
• What are the types of entities?
• Where to form your entity?
• Why is entity liability protection is no substitute for proper insurance?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of the different forms of business organization?
Darin also will offer invaluable tips for dealing with an attorney.
About the presenter
Darin Siefkes graduated from Baylor Law School in 2005. Since his graduation, Darin has represented many small and large businesses. Darin’s legal experiences (besides vehicle warranty issues) include employment, intellectual property issues, corporate formations, transnational matters of all kinds, and civil litigation. Before law school, Darin worked in a variety of industries. He has run and managed groups in the oil field, media, software, and technology industries. Additionally, he has worked for large and small IT corporations.
