Epgphotography

I use photography to document the world around me. I make pictures that call attention to things that other people often overlook…I use all types of cameras in my work, though most often, older film cameras and Polaroid materials, which can give surprising results at times. My goal is to take pictures that make people think outside the box, to look at things differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective.

As such, he is able to absorb and reflect multicultural influences and their intersection within cultures with an albedo-like alacrity. Prints are hand crafted on watercolor paper as well as painted onto wood and developed in a cyanotype process. Metal prints are also available further bringing a new dimension and intimacy to photographic prints.

Artist Statement: “Mood comes first. Before composition, before color, before anything technical, I start with a feeling I’m trying to put into the world. My figurative oil paintings are less about capturing likeness and more about creating emotional space. The desire to make art that transcends narrative, that bridges the distance between people through feeling alone, is one of the most fundamentally human impulses I know. That’s what draws me to paint. I want the figure to carry a charge the viewer can feel without being able to fully name it. The way certain songs work, open enough that people with completely different lives can find their own truth in them, that’s what I’m after. Not ambiguity for its own sake, but space for the viewer to bring themselves to the work. To find something real there. I paint what I can’t quite say any other way.”

https://www.facebook.com/renatakreiderart

I create watercolor and ink paintings that explore movement, color, and emotional landscape. My work includes abstract compositions and landscapes, often inspired by natural elements. Through layered washes and expressive line work, I’m interested in how form can suggest both place and feeling. At Mainly Art, I will be offering original watercolor paintings along with smaller works. Each piece is designed to invite reflection and connection through color, rhythm, and atmosphere. I paint for mental health, and desire that my work inspires hope!”Ripley Larue
