Rockin’ Kids Club: Hands-on Eclipse Stations

October 9 @ 2:30 pm 5:15 pm

RRISD schools are out for the day! Are you excited about the annular eclipse coming this Saturday, Oct. 14?

We sure are!

And we’ve partnered with the Texas State University Round Rock STEM-For-All initiative and the Good Water Master Naturalists to create stations to help kids explore eclipse science at their own pace.

We’ll play with shadows, craft safe solar eclipse viewers, make and decorate carrying cases for solar eclipse glasses, plan your own eclipse viewing party, get to know the moon, and learn about our place in space.

Find us in the 2nd Floor Program Space, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Come when you can, visit the stations that catch your eye, stay as long as you enjoy, up to 5:15 p.m.

This activity is part of The Moon and Beyond, a series of events in September and October in support of RRPL’s One Community Four Books program. Some attendees will win a free pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses to use for the eclipses visible in Round Rock on Oct. 14, 2023 and April 8, 2024.

Rockin’ Kids Club is a series of Monday afternoon activities designed specially for elementary students and their families.
