Master Gardeners at the Library: Care of Turf Grass

The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is presenting a free monthly gardening program, Green Thumbs Up, at the Round Rock Public Library. Join us for Care of Turf Grass in Williamson County from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, Meeting Room B.

The program will be presented by Kaye Davidson. Attendees will learn about:

  • Common varieties of turf grass
  • Bermuda strengths and weaknesses
  • St. Augustine strengths and weaknesses
  • What drives plant growth
  • Weed and Feed
  • Pre and post emergents
  • Fertilization
  • Integrated pest management
  • Diseases of turf grass
  • Lawn weeds
  • Lawn pests
  • Good practices

Master Gardeners at the Library: Selecting Native and Adapted Perennials

The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is presenting a free monthly gardening program, Green Thumbs Up. Join us for Selecting Native and Adapted Perennials from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room A.

The program will be presented by Loyce Engle. Attendees will learn about:

  • the right plant in the right place
  • drought-tolerant plants
  • shade plants
  • deer-resistant plants
  • plants to attract hummingbirds and butterflies  

Two plants will be given away in a drawing after the presentation.

Master Gardeners at the Library: Basic Garden Maintenance

The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, are presenting a free monthly gardening program about Basic Garden Maintenance, Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room B.

In February, Master Gardener Jim Williams will be about Earth Kind principles for garden maintenance covering soil, compost, mulch, watering, fertilizing, weeding and general garden cleaning.
