Master Gardeners at the Library: Crape Myrtles

The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is presenting a free monthly gardening program, Green Thumbs Up, at the Round Rock Public Library. Join us for Crape Myrtles from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, Meeting Room A.

Master Gardener Brenda McIndoo will discuss Crape Myrtles and Crape Myrtle Bark Scale (CMBS). Topics discussed will include:

  • Selecting crape myrtles
  • Planting, care, and pruning crape myrtles
  • Background, symptoms, and treatment of CMBS

The Texas Master Gardener Association, a volunteer organization of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is presenting a free monthly gardening program, Green Thumbs Up, at the Round Rock Public Library. Join us for Wild Critters from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, Meeting Room A.

In this free workshop, you will learn about:

  • Snakes—good and bad
  • Beneficial spiders
  • Pesky critters—raccoons, possums, armadillos, feral cats
  • Living and dealing with these critters

  • How and when do they grow
  • How to identify them
  • Weed management by cultivation, natural herbicides, pre- and post-emergent herbicides
