Jedi Training with Lone Star Saber Academy

Round Rock Public Library welcomes the Lone Star Saber Saber Academy to our Star Wars Reads Day celebration.

This come-and-go activity is perfect for Jedi and padawans ages 6 years and older.

Participants will have a chance to train in small groups in either of our two identical sessions. Enjoy some time watching the other groups while you await your group’s turn to train.

Each session will begin with a demonstration of Jedi stage fighting.  Come watch, and participate if you’re old enough. Light sabers will be provided for use during the training session.

Join us in Room B beginning at 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Costumes are welcome.

Free summer meals for kids and teens

Kids and teens facing food scarcity during the summer months are welcome to enjoy a free, nutritious meal at the Library Friday afternoons.

Come to the Round Rock Public Library‘s Meeting Room A, 12 – 1 pm, any Friday from June 14, 2019 – August 2, 2019.

The Library will try to meet anticipated demand for lunches. Lunches will be distributed first come, first served, to children ages 0 – 18 until all meals are gone. There is no enrollment, no proof of need required, and no cost for this program.

Summer lunches at the Library are provided by a partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank to fill a nutrition gap families may face when schools are closed. Don’t let our neighborhood kids go hungry; if you are aware of families experiencing a nutrition gap this summer, please share this information with them.

Puppet show: Iris Saves the Land of Black and White

Laura Freeman and the Hey Lolly Puppet Theater visit Round Rock Public Library for two very special storytime performances.

The puppet show, Iris Saves the Land of Black and White, tells the story of a land ruled by a king who has banned all color. It’s up to Iris and the kids in the audience to bring back color to the land!

Join us in Room C for one of the 30-minute shows:

  • 9:30 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m.

These shows replace today’s regularly scheduled Babytime and Toddlertime programs. They are best enjoyed by kids ages 1 -5 years.

For more information, or to inquire about bringing a group of six or more kids, please contact the Children’s Reference Desk at 512-218-3275.
