This project has been part of our Transportation Master Plan since 2007 as an important north-south corridor west of I-35 with a bridge crossing Brushy Creek connecting neighborhoods to RM 620 and will alleviate local collector traffic. A traffic circle or roundabout and a traffic signal are being evaluated at Sam Bass. There will be a connection to the Brushy Creek trail, north of the creek and west of the proposed bridge.

Project update: May 2026

This project is currently in the field investigation and schematic development phase. The engineer on this project has presented alignment options with a full 30% schematic due in July 2026. This will need to be fine tuned before acceptance and posting.
