City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Track and Field Team athletes participated in the 2016 Games of Texas in McAllen, Texas. Participants brought home Gold, Silver and Bronze placed Top 10 of various events.
Gold medal winners included Alexandria Neimeth in 80 meter hurdles completed in 13.64 seconds and Nigel Harris in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds. Harris also received bronze in the 200 meter in 22.88 seconds and fifth place in 300 meter hurdles, finishing in 41.39 seconds. Miranda Kromer received silver in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.70 seconds and bronze in the 300 meter hurdles; completed in 48.41 seconds. Also receiving bronze, Alexis Claiborne in the 400 meter with a time of 1:08.86, Daniel Morris placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet 11 inches. Trinity Harris placed seventh in discus with a distance of 92 feet 3 inches and eighth in shot put at 29 feet 3 inches.
T.A.A.F. State Track & Field qualification begins at the local level with the track athlete being registered through their member city track team, affiliate track team or as an unattached athlete. The T.A.A.F. registered athlete must qualify through regional competition (the region in which they are registered). Once the athlete qualifies at region level, he or she advances to the T.A.A.F. State Track Meet held at the T.A.A.F. Summer Games of Texas.
