Round Rock ranks among top performing cities in America

Round Rock has found itself near the top of another list as the Round Rock-Austin metropolitan area landed among the best performing cities in the nation, according to a recent study.  

The Milken Institute ranked the cities 2nd in the nation in its annual Best Performing Cities series, which has tracked the economic performance of metros across the country for more than two decades.

Round Rock-Austin is one of only two Texas cities in the largest population category to make the Top 10:

  1. Provo-Orem, UT
  2. Round Rock-Austin, TX
  3. Salt Lake City, UT
  4. Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ
  5. Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, FL
  6. Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA
  7. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA
  8. Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, AR-MO
  9. Colorado Springs, CO
  10. Dallas-Plano-Irving, TX

The study takes into account job growth, wage and salary growth, and gross domestic product (GDP) indicators in its analysis of urban economies.
