Round Rock-based Dell Technologies on Best Companies list

Ctrl + Alt + Succeed! Round Rock-based Dell Technologies made U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best Companies to Work For list.

The publicly traded tech company, founded in 1984, employs 108,000 employees worldwide and had an annual revenue of $95.4 billion last year.

Dell and the City of Round Rock have had an economic development agreement in place since 1993, causing Dell to move its world headquarters to Round Rock in 1994. The 1993 agreement facilitated substantial job creation, community investments and infrastructure developments. As a result of the City’s ability to use sales tax revenues to reduce property taxes, Dell’s strong sales have directly reduced property taxes in Round Rock for decades. In 2024, the original agreement was extended through 2099.

Dell received recognition in the list as among the best companies to work for overall, best in the South, best for internships and best in information technology. It received high marks for its work-life balance, safe work environment, and its professional development and career opportunities.

U.S. News & World Report based its findings on:

  • Quality of pay and benefits
  • Work-life balance and flexibility
  • Job and company stability
  • Physical and psychological comfort
  • Belongingness and esteem
  • Career opportunities and professional development

U.S. News & World Report created its first list of the Best Companies to Work For in 2023. It considered 5,000 publicly traded companies for this year’s list, ultimately recognizing 636 companies across 14 industries.
