City Arts Center Exhibit Reception
January 29 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The City Arts Center will participate in the Griffith Building ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 29th, at 4pm, along with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Round Rock Visitors Center. Our festivities in the City Arts Center will continue from 4pm-8pm in celebration of the new art exhibit in our beautiful new gallery! The City Arts Center is staffed and managed by the City of Round Rock Arts and Culture.

We’re thrilled to present “Chapters,” by Linda Murray, about which she shares, “I paint in series. This show includes representative pieces of many different series. I think of each series as a book and each painting within that book as a chapter.” This title has extra meaning beyond the exhibit, being that the Griffith Building previously housed the library, and the gallery is a new chapter for this city department.
We invite you to celebrate the arts and community with us in the City Arts Center! We will have live jazz by Keith Fiala (on tour this year with Arturo Sandoval), food and refreshments by Alfred’s Catering and chocolatier So Good Brazilian Treats, photo booth, opportunity to meet the exhibiting artist and enjoy the newly renovated Griffith Center.
Ribbon cutting festivities will take place from 4pm-6pm, and the City Arts Center exhibit reception is from 4pm-8pm. This event is free and open to the public.

“When I was a younger artist, I wanted to confine the issues I addressed in my paintings to universal themes, not personal ones. Now that I am no longer a young artist, I have come to realize that those universal themes and my personal themes are one and the same. We all face mortality. We all are affected by the constant balancing act of nature vs. technology.”—Artist Linda Murray
