Learn about Round Rock Legend Juanita Craft

Join us to learn about local legend and civil rights activist Juanita Craft, the “MLK Jr. of Dallas” who was born in Round Rock, TX, at this presentation, from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 24, Legacy Conference Room, Third Floor, Round Rock Public Library.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: “Come learn all about Round Rock native Juanita Craft, who went on to do mighty civil rights work in Dallas that gained her acclaim as the “MLK Jr. of Dallas”! Journalist Helen Cordes will present, and we’ll also hear from Ella Sauls Morrison about the activities of the Round Rock Black History Organization and from Round Rock educator Tina Steiner on the power of mentoring.”

There will be another program on the same day from 2 to 4 p.m., Meeting Room A & B, Round Rock Public Library. RSVP with your preferred seating time to helen.cordes@gmail.com

PLUS: You are also invited to a benefit lunch at 12:15 to 1:30 pm, held in the Round Rock Public Library’s Meeting Room A & B! Enjoy a meal that Juanita enjoyed cooking for guests, such as her Pflugerville and Austin cousins, of chicken and dumplings, potato salad, tomato salad, and cupcakes. Lunch is free, but contributions are encouraged of any amount to further the community outreach activities of the Round Rock Black History Organization.
