Christmas Family Night kicks off holidays

  • Starting at 6 a.m., East Main from Mays to Sheppard will be closed, and Lampasas from the parking garage (garage will remain accessible) to the alleyway north of Main will be closed.
  • Starting at noon, West Main Street from Mays to Blair and Blair to Brown will be closed, and there will still be accessible north-south routes on Blair and Mays.
  • Starting at 3 p.m., Mays Street from Logan to Liberty will be closed, Round Rock Avenue at the roundabout will be closed and West Main from Mays to Brown will be completely closed.

Christmas Family Night, Round Rock’s annual holiday festival is coming back and bigger and better than ever!

The holiday celebration starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 with a welcome from Mayor Morgan and Santa at the Main Stage located at the intersection of Mays and Main Street.

During Christmas Family Night, Main Street hosts various free games and activities and performances will take place throughout the evening. The event kicks off with a welcome from Mayor Craig Morgan, followed by the illumination of the Hometown Holiday lights and Round Rock Downtown Water Tower. Then Santa makes his grand entrance.

Children should bring their “wish lists” for Santa Claus and parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for pictures with Santa. Plus, enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and other refreshments, activities and snacks.

Silent Disco Party

This year will include a Silent Disco Party at Prete Main Street Plaza and live music from the FREEZE FRAME ATX 80s band. Your family will also enjoy the NEW Holiday Craft Market featuring 30-plus vendors featuring holiday crafts, gifts and more. The Holiday Craft Market opens at 5 p.m.

Main Stage Schedule:

6:30 p.m. Welcome from Mayor Craig Morgan, followed by the illumination of the all Hometown Holiday lights and the iconic water tower. Then Santa makes his grand entrance to greet children of all ages

7 p.m. live music from FREEZE FRAME ATX 

Christmas Family Night is organized by the City of Round Rock and made possible thanks to the help of community groups and organizations that donate their services to offer this fun and free event.

The event will happen rain or shine; there will be no rain date.
