The City Council, after meeting Thursday, Jan. 8, in executive session, voted unanimously to appoint Laurie Hadley as City Manager. Hadley had been serving as Interim City Manager since Oct. 1 following the resignation of Steve Norwood. Prior to that, Hadley had been Assistant City Manager since May 2011.

“We are thrilled to remove the ‘Interim’ from Laurie’s title,” Mayor Alan McGraw said. “She is an exceptional leader and is the perfect person to lead this City’s outstanding staff. We could not have been more pleased with the work she did as Interim City Manager, and her years before that. She’s the right person at the right time to take this organization into the future.”

Hadley has 26 years of experience in local government. Prior to coming to Round Rock, she was Deputy City Manager in Prescott, Ariz., from 2006-2010, and served as Acting City Manager in Prescott in 2011.

“I love this City and this organization and believe we have a truly outstanding City Council,” Hadley said. “The elected leadership in Round Rock is second to none, and they set the tone for all we are able to accomplish here. I’m grateful for their confidence and trust in me, and look forward to serving our citizens in my new role.”

Hadley lives in Round Rock and is married to Jim. They have three children, Katie, Thomas and Michael.
