City of Round Rock inviting public feedback on drainage

The City of Round Rock is conducting its drainage analysis to identify potential issues throughout the community. As part of this effort, detailed models are developed to represent how stormwater flows through various areas. Resident input is requested to help ensure the accuracy of these models.

The form below asks about specific experiences—such as water in a home, yard flooding, or street overflow—to help engineers compare real-world observations with model results. This feedback will support adjustments to the models to ensure they reflect actual conditions across the city.

The City of Round Rock works on a variety of drainage improvement projects to reduce localized flooding and strengthen stormwater infrastructure:

  • Creek projects typically involve flood relief projects that protect life and property by minimizing the occurrence of creeks overtopping their banks and/or roadways.
  • Street projects usually involve adding storm drain inlets and pipes in older areas that were built before modern standards were in place and thus may not have the infrastructure in place to handle typical storms.
  • Heavy maintenance projects primarily focus on repairing deterioration in existing drainage ways due to erosion caused by upstream development and drought-driven vegetation loss.
