City of Round Rock rideshare program delivers to over 700 locations

Want to stop by a grocery store but don’t have a ride? Or maybe meet friends for lunch, or stop by your doctor’s office?

The City of Round Rock offers a low-cost rideshare program, Round Rock Rides, that provides on-demand service to more than 700 designated pick-up and drop-off locations around town.

Catch Round Rock Rides from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each Saturday. Cost is only $4 per person for each one-way trip. Fares are reduced to $2 a trip for senior citizens age 65 and older and active-duty military.

Curb-to-curb paratransit service is also available to eligible individuals.

While public busing exists in town as well, Round Rock Rides’s flexibility allows for individualized attention and stops miles away from bus routes.

Please note that this program, provided by the Austin-based zTrip rideshare company, is available only within Round Rock city limits.

Round Rock Rides debuted as a pilot program in 2023, in select portions of the city. It went city-wide the following year. Ridership reached 14,800 in Fiscal Year 2024 (October 2023 to September 2024). Ridership for the current fiscal year, which ends in two months, has been calculated at an estimated 22,000 passengers.
