Library receives Achievement of Excellence Award for fifth consecutive year

On the heels of opening a new 66,000 square foot state-of-the-art library building, the Round Rock Public Library has received the 2022 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA) for the fifth consecutive year.

Out of the 552 public libraries in Texas, only 73 received this award in 2022, making the Round Rock Library among the top 13 percent of public libraries across the state.

According to TMLDA, to successfully receive the Achievement of Library Excellence Award a library must exhibit excellence by “providing services to underserved and special populations; marketing in innovative ways; pursuing collaborative efforts; continually enhancing its services; supporting literacy, digital inclusion, and workforce development; providing cultural, topical, and educational programming; and comprehensively training its staff.”

The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association is an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League, focused on improving the methods of providing library service and promoting the public library profession.
