Round Rock Police arrest suspect in April auto-pedestrian fatality

Sept. 20 UPDATE: Round Rock Police have apprehended a suspect in an April auto-pedestrian collision that claimed the life of 24-year-old Cleveland Deshon Elliott. Cory Wayne Ferguson, 31, was charged Sept. 20 with accident involving personal injury or death. Gabriela Delgado Vela was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

At 1:40 a.m. April 17, Elliott was walking near Gattis School Road and Surrey Drive when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Elliott was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries that same day.

“This was a difficult case for our detectives and civilian staff assigned to it and they worked tirelessly for the last five months to identify this suspect,” Round Rock Chief of Police Allen Banks said. “I hope this takes us one step closer to justice and closure for the Elliott family.”

July 18 UPDATE: Round Rock Police are still seeking information on the auto-pedestrian fatality that occurred at 1:40 a.m. April 17, 2019, on Gattis School Road near Surrey Drive. 

Cleveland Deshon Elliott, 24, was struck and killed by a vehicle which fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a blue passenger car without a sunroof and with LED or HID headlights. The vehicle has possible damage to the front or may have been recently repaired. The vehicle entered Round Rock westbound on Gattis School Road from Williamson County.
