Round Rock bank robbery suspect identified

2/11/19 UPDATE: The subsequent investigation into the robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 505 Round Rock Avenue in Round Rock on Nov. 27, 2018, has concluded that 39-year-old Austin Silvey was responsible for this robbery. Silvey is also suspected of robbing several banks across North Texas. He died after a 5-hour standoff with FBI and SWAT at a hotel in Benbrook, Texas on Dec. 14.

11/27/18 ORIGINAL POST: The Round Rock Police Department is requesting the public’s help to identify the suspect in a bank robbery that took place Tuesday afternoon. The suspect entered the Wells Fargo bank at 505 Round Rock Avenue just before 2 p.m., approached the teller, and demanded money. The suspect is described as a white male, 45 to 50 years old, and approximately 6’0” with a medium build.
