Unofficial Election Day results: Matt Baker, Writ Baese win Council seats

Matt Baker and Writ Baese won their respective City Council seats in the May 5 election, according to unofficial results from the Williamson County Elections Office.

Matt Baker won 60.67 percent, or 2,326, of the votes for Place 3, compared to 39.33 percent, or 1,508, of votes for opponent Cam Scott. Incumbent Writ Baese won 66.41 percent, or 2,384, of the votes for Place 5, compared to 33.59 percent, or 1,206, of votes for opponent Ellie Andrew.

The Place 3 vacancy was created after current Council Member Frank Leffingwell announced that he would not seek re-election. All seats on the City Council are at-large, meaning they represent all areas of the City.
