Round Rock City Council approves increased fees for pavilions, fields, Rock’N River

Round Rock City Council approved updates to several parks and recreation fees, including Rock’N River, pavilion rentals and athletic field use, at the April 23 Council Meeting.

The most notable changes involve the Rock’N River Family Aquatic Center, where daily admission fees are increasing by approximately $6 per category. Youth admission will increase from $12 to $18, adult admission from $14 to $20, and senior admission from $12 to $18, while infant pricing remains unchanged at $6. At the same time, the family season pass is increasing from $235 to $245, with an additional $15 fee per extra family member. There is no increase for individual season passes. As in past years, season passes will be offered to Round Rock residents first, ensuring they have priority access before any remaining passes are made available more broadly. According to Parks and Recreation Director Rick Atkins, season passes also remain the most cost-effective option for frequent visitors, with the cost typically offset after just a few visits. Passholders are also allowed to enter the water park 30 minutes before regular opening time.

Admission rates at other municipal pools remain unchanged. At Micki Krebsbach Pool, daily admission is $4 for youth, $5 for adults, and $4 for seniors, while Lake Creek Pool fees are $1 for youth, $2 for adults and $1 for seniors.

These changes are tied to the recent expansion of Rock’N River as part of the 2023 G.O. bond projects in Old Settlers Park. The updated pricing reflects added amenities while ensuring the facility can continue to operate efficiently. At the same time, the City is maintaining a tiered pricing structure among its pools.

Beyond aquatic facilities, pavilion rental fees are being adjusted to better reflect differences in size, location and amenities. Premium facilities, such as the Backyard Pavilion and Lakeview Pavilion at Old Settlers Park, are priced higher—$300 and $600 for four hours, respectively—based on upgraded features and anticipated demand. The Backyard Pavilion (formerly Lakeview Pavilion) has been upgraded to include grills. The new two-story Lakeview Pavilion is being established as a premium rental space with a higher rate, reflecting its location, views and upgraded infrastructure designed for larger events and higher-demand use.

There is no fee increase for neighborhood pavilions, community pavilions without restrooms and Rabb Pavilion (located at Old Settlers Park). Community pavilions with restrooms will have an increase of $25 for a total of $100 per day.

Similarly, athletic field daily rental rates and hourly lighting fees are increasing. Adult tournament fields will increase by $140 per day to $200 per day, and youth tournament fields will increase by $100 to $150 per day. Light fees will increase from $18 per hour to $25 per hour.
