The Round Rock Police Explorers made a great showing while participating in the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer Advisors Association (TLEEAA) State Competition on July 10-13, in Arlington.

Approximately 100 teams took part in this year’s Competition. The State Competition is designed to have challenging scenarios which are based on current Texas law enforcement standardized training.

The Round Rock Police Department sent two Explorer teams to the Competition to compete in eight scenarios against teams from all over the State, to also include teams from Kansas and Oklahoma.

The teams received marks in the 90th percentile for various activities and scenarios including; Bomb Threat, Gang Activity, Traffic Accident Investigation, Misdemeanor Traffic Stop, Officer Down, Triathlon, and Bicycle Obstacle Course.

“We’re very proud of our teams and volunteers for their outstanding contributions and all of their hard work,” said Sgt. Jimmy Keyes, who works closely with the group.

The Round Rock Police Explorers are currently preparing for their next competition with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Competition in August.
