Round Rock drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists are now able to view the draft recommendations that will be made to decision makers following months of public engagement regarding the City of Round Rock’s Transportation Master Plan update.
The City’s project team, led by consultant Kimley Horn, has thoroughly analyzed existing conditions and conducted multiple public meetings to gather feedback from residents and stakeholders since the plan process began in fall 2022. The Transportation Master Plan is a long-term planning document which will guide funding decisions as the City continues to experience growth and development over the next three decades.
The recommendations focus on prioritizing high-priority intersections, safety enhancements and major roadway and trail projects designed to accommodate the City’s expected ultimate population of 250,000 people. The planning process is anticipated to conclude this summer.
“As Round Rock continues to thrive, we must continue to proactively plan for our future transportation needs,” said Mayor Craig Morgan. “We know that traffic remains a top concern for our residents, and we are aggressively investing in projects that shape a comprehensive transportation network that supports our community’s growth and enhances the quality of life for all residents.”
