Scam alert: Beware phone calls about overdue utility bills - City of Round Rock

Scam alert: Beware phone calls about overdue utility bills

Recently, some Round Rock utility customers have reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be with “Utility Billing” for the City of Round Rock. The caller advises the customer of an outstanding water bill and requests credit card information to satisfy the large debt to avoid cut-off of service.

The City of Round Rock’s  Utility Billing Department uses an automated system to notify customers of an outstanding balance. Customers must always initiate payment. Utility Billing does not take credit card information outside of the City’s established payment systems that accept credit cards:

  • Online Payment – You can make a one-time payment or set up auto-pay at RRTXWater.com.
  • Phone – Call the toll-free number at 1-855-894-2392. Select “#” after your CID number and Account number, i.e., XXXXXX# XXXXXX#.
  • Lobby or Walk-in – Located at City Hall, 221 E. Main Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Have a question about your account status? Contact Utility Billing at 512-218-5460.

To confirm the validity of any overdue bill calls or notices, please call the City Utility Billing Department at 512-218-5460.
