The Round Rock Library invites preschoolers (ages 3-6) to a special storytime featuring Metamorphosis Dance and excerpts from The Nutcracker. Hear the story, meet the dancers, see them in action, and enjoy a photo session with them afterwards.

Pre-registration is not required unless you are bringing a group of six or more children.

Rockin’ Kids Club: with special guest Great Promise for American Indians (ages 5+)

Elementary students are welcome to join special guest Great Promise for American Indians at the Round Rock Public Library‘s Rockin’ Kids Club on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 4:30 pm.  An exhibition of native dance including a discussion of Native American traditions and an opportunity for visitors to participate.

On Monday afternoons the Library offers a rotating set of activities:

  • 1st Monday: LEGO® free-build
  • 2nd Monday: Art Club
  • 3rd Monday: Science Club
  • 4th Monday: Game On!

Guidelines:

  1. Please arrive on time.
  2. Younger children may require parental assistance.
  3. You do not need to pre-register to attend these programs unless you are bringing six or more children.

Prepare to be amazed–and to spend the rest of the day dancing–as Round Rock Public Library welcomes Terrence Taps – The Tap Dance Man for two special performances.

Join us on Monday, July 15, 2019 for one of two performances:

  • 4 p.m.
  • 6:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome, although the show may best enjoyed by kids old enough to want to try a few moves of their own.

Coppélia ballet and other works at Storytime (ages 3-6)

Rockin’ Kids Club: Korean culture and dance with Lee Young (ages 5+)

It’s art week at Round Rock Public Library‘s Rockin’ Kids Club!  Join Lee Young for a presentation on Korean culture followed by a short demo of traditional dance. Lee will also bring traditional Korean outfits to try on. 

On Monday afternoons the Library offers a rotating set of activities that highlight science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Join the fun at 4:30 pm.

Celebrate Polish and Mexican culture with guest performers

Start the year with a celebration of international friendship with dance performances highlighting Polish and Mexican cultures.

Guzman Ballet Folklorico is hosting Zespół Tańca Ludowego “Przygoda” (Folk Dance Group “Adventure”) on their visit from Poland.

Enjoy a half hour performance beginning at 11 a.m. in Round Rock Public Library’s meeting room.

This is the first trip to the United States for the Zespół Tańca Ludowego “Przygoda”. Participants have come to learn about U.S. culture, and to share their culture through dance performances. 

Guzman Ballet Folklorico is a dance group founded in 2016 and located in Pflugerville, Texas.

Zespół Tańca Ludowego “Przygoda” is a folk dance ensemble founded in 1972 from Rybnik, Poland.

Adulting 101 for Teens – Basic dance steps and etiquette (teens only, ages 12-18)

Welcome to Adulting 101 for Teens, a series of programs to help teens develop life skills to transition to adulthood. We will have presenters on topics in the fall series from September-December.

The Round Rock Public Library and Arthur Murray Dance Center of Georgetown welcome teens to a program to learn how to navigate a dance floor, on Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30 pm.

Arthur Murray dance studios have been teaching the world to dance for over 100 years. They have perfected the art of teaching everyone and anyone to dance. They will be exploring the world of dance and a foundation of a slow and fast dance will be established in the class. Proper etiquette on how to ask for a dance, accept an invitation, and how to respectfully hold someone to dance, will all be discussed. They believe that learning to dance is essential in life, and should be !
