Rockin’ Kids Club: Science

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at your LibraryElementary students, join us for some hands-on time to be curious and make discoveries. It’s science week at Round Rock Public Library!

Every Monday afternoon the library hosts a rotating schedule of STEAM activities. Here’s the regular rotation:

  • 1st Monday: LEGO® free-build
  • 2nd Monday: Art Club
  • 3rd Monday: Science Club
  • 4th Monday: Game On!
  • 5th Monday: Librarian’s Choice

Bow Wow Read to Dogs (preregistration)

The Round Rock Public Library presents Bow Wow, a program that allows new readers to practice their skills with a therapy dog and its trainer.

Through our partnership with the Austin Dog Alliance, we offer Bow Wow on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

Online preregistration is required. Each reader can sign up for a 10 minute slot. Only attending participants must preregister. Registration starts 2 weeks prior to event date at 9:00 am. Hindi Bilingual Storytime

The Round Rock Public Library presents Hindi Bilingual Storytime the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 10:30 a.m. in Room B.

This program, developed for ages 3 and up, celebrates Indian culture with stories, fingerplays, songs, and other activities in both English and Hindi.

This is the regular monthly rotation of Bilingual programs:

  • 1st Tuesday: Chinese (ages 3-6)
  • 2nd Tuesday: Spanish (ages 3-6)
  • 3rd Tuesday: American Sign Language (ages 1-6)
  • 4th Tuesday: Hindi (ages 3-6)
  • 5th Tuesday: Spanish (ages 3-6)

Rockin’ Kids Club: Game On!

Rockin' Kids GamesIt’s games week at the Round Rock Public Library.  Elementary students, come laugh, play, build friendships, and build mathematical thinking with the library’s big set of games.

The Library hosts STEAM activities for elementary students Monday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. The regular rotation of activities is:

  • 1st Monday: LEGO® Free-Build
  • 2nd Monday: Art Club
  • 3rd Monday: Science Club
  • 4th Monday: Game On!

Guidelines:

  1. Please arrive on time.
  2. Younger children may require parental assistance.
  3. You do not need to pre-register to attend these programs unless you are bringing six or more children.

Virtual Storytelling Workshop (ages 12-18) (preregistration)

Down South Word of Mouth will be presenting a virtual interactive storytelling workshop at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Teens, ages 12-18, may preregister for a storytelling workshop intertwined with improv.

Down South Word of Mouth merges the art of storytelling with fun interactive games. By intertwining the creation and performance of stories, we enable friends, families, and neighbors to learn more about one another in a class full of fun and surprises!
