Free vision screening for kids

Round Rock Public Library proudly partners with the Round Rock chapter of Lions International to provide free vision screenings for young children 11 a.m.  – 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, in the Computer Lab (next to the library’s large meeting rooms).

These screenings are first come, first served. Everyone is welcome.

This event is part of KidSight USA, a nationwide screening program conducted by Round Rock Lions. The program provides critical eye screenings for ages 6 months – 6 years.

Lions involved with KidSight USA want to reach young learners and help identify common vision problems while those problems are more easily reversed, and before those problems interfere with learning.

If a screening suggests a possible vision condition that needs to be addressed, Round Rock Lions will work with families to make certain that professional eye exams and glasses are obtained.

Teen Book Club (ages 12-18): An Ember In The Ashes

The Round Rock Public Library Teen Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month. Join us in The Teen Room at 6:30 PM, August 20.

2019 Teen Book Club Selections (selected by teens at the November 2018 book club)

Please Note:While book club selections are chosen specifically for teens ages 12-18, parents may still wish to review the content for appropriateness for their child/teen.
