No injuries in house fire caused by lightning strike

At 10:34 p.m. Friday, June 13, Round Rock Fire Department units received a report of a structure that was on fire at 2613 Dalea St. The house was occupied at the time.

The first Fire Department units arrived at 10:42 p.m. to find the occupants outside with smoke and flames coming through the roof. Additional units were requested and the fire was extinguished around 12:09 a.m.

There were no injuries during the incident.

Damage is estimated at $320,000.

After salvage and overhaul and a final check for hot spots, the last Fire Department units cleared the scene at 5:42 a.m.

The fire origin is believed to be caused by a lighting strike.
