Hilda Montgomery was sworn in to Place 6 at the Jan. 11 City Council meeting. Williamson County Precinct 1 Commissioner Terry Cook administered the oath of office. Family, friends and supporters filled Council chambers for the ceremony.

“I will do my very best to earn every bit of the respect and honor that you’ve shown me by placing me in this honored position,” Councilmember Montgomery said.

Montgomery won a Dec. 16 special election to fill the vacancy created when Kris Whitfield resigned in October.
