Leak Adjustment Request Information
The City of Round Rock offers leak adjustments as a courtesy to qualifying customers who experience a leak on the customer’s side of the meter. Adjustments are based on excess water consumption, not the dollar amount. Leaks occurring on the customer’s side of the meter, including all repairs and associated costs, are the responsibility of the property owner or tenant.
Qualifications
- The leak must be repaired before submitting a request.
- The request must be submitted in writing, either through the Leak Adjustment Request Form or as a physical written request.
- The request must be submitted within 90 days of the leak repair.
- Customers must provide proof of repair with their request.
Important Information
- Only one leak adjustment per account is permitted within 12 months.
- Leak adjustments are limited to one month of the leak period.
- Customers should continue making payments while the request is under review. Failure to maintain monthly payments may result in service interruption. Customers experiencing financial hardship may contact Utility Billing to discuss available payment arrangements.
- Accounts with water losses resulting from the following are not eligible for leak adjustments:
- Excessive irrigation use
- Broken irrigation heads
- Incorrectly programmed irrigation schedules
- Pool leaks
- Pool auto-refill systems
- Hose left running
- Water loss resulting from meter tampering
Processing Time
Once all required documentation has been received and all bills affected by the leak usage have been generated, please allow up to 30 days for processing. Once a leak adjustment has been approved and the credit has been applied to the account, the customer will receive an email notification.

To be considered for a leak adjustment, customers must complete the Leak Adjustment Request Form below and provide documentation verifying the repair, such as a professional plumbing invoice or receipts for parts/materials if the customer completed the repair.
