The Affordable Care Act includes a number of options in healthcare coverage. There are a wide variety of resources available online that provide information about these options, and how to choose what is best for you.
The library cannot provide recommendations on care choices for individuals but we hope to make available the necessary information for our library users to make informed decisions that best suit their needs.

IMPORTANT: 2018 Open Enrollment is shorter than in previous years
This is a shorter enrollment period than previous years, so it’s important to act quickly. If you don’t act by December 15, you can’t get 2018 coverage unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Plans sold during Open Enrollment start January 1, 2018.
Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace begins.
Last day to enroll in or change a 2018 health plan to begin coverage on January 1, 2018. After this date, you can enroll or change plans only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
2018 coverage starts for those who enroll or change plans by December 15.
The Health Insurance Marketplace will offer a new way for people without insurance to get coverage and to find out if they can get lower costs for private insurance. They can also find out if they qualify for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
People who do not have health coverage may have to pay a fee.
