Rock’N River named 2022 Water Park of the Year by Texas Public Pool Council

Talk about a big splash! Rock’N River Water Park was recently named Water Park of the Year by the Texas Public Pool Council at their annual conference.  This award was bestowed on the City of Round Rock’s flagship aquatics facility in recognition of the impacts made to youth and families of Round Rock.

In 2022, Rock’N River Water Park served over 109,000 patrons, providing the community with resort style amenities and attractions at a fraction of the cost of area competitors. The public water park also plays host to numerous community events and serves as the training hub for the City’s lifeguard program.

A culture of safety and excellence has been built at the facility through a weekly training and mentorship program for the City’s lifeguard team. That culture has helped keep lifeguard positions filled and garnered recent recognition of the aquatics program, including first place at the Central Texas Aquatics Association’s regional lifeguard competition and second place at the Texas State Lifeguard Competition in 2022.

Round Rock Parks and Recreation is currently hiring for Rock’N River, along with all city pools, for Summer 2023. The City’s hires over 275 aquatics team members each summer. Available positions include:

  • Lifeguard
  • Pool Attendant
  • Cashier
  • Water Safety Instructor
  • Pool Supervisor
  • Pool Manager

The City hires young adults for many summer positions (ages 15 and up), but also has roles suitable for adults looking for a fulfilling position with flexible scheduling. All positions offer the opportunity to develop strong problem-solving and leadership skills, while making connections with, and serving the community. Starting pay ranges from $15 to $19.50 per hour (dependent upon position).
