City Council approves fare increase, expansion of transit services

The Round Rock City Council approved June 13 a slight increase in fares for transit services, as well as new direct route service to Capital Metro’s Tech Ridge Park and Ride facility.

The service area will now include the city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of Round Rock.

The changes go into effect July 15.

Fares will be set as follows:

Home address in city limits

  • General Fare – $5 per person, per trip
  • Discounted Fare – $2 per person, per trip

Home address in extraterritorial jurisdiction

  • General Fare – $7 per person, per trip
  • Discounted Fare – $3 per person, per trip

Discounted fare eligibility will now include low-income persons.

Coming soon

Service will include morning and afternoon direct routes between Sears Teleserv, 1300 Louis Henna Blvd., and Tech Ridge Park and Ride in Austin. Reservations are required.
