No one injured in pair of fires in Round Rock

No injuries have been reported in a pair of fires in Round Rock over the past 14 hours, a residential blaze Thursday night and an apartment fire late Friday morning.

At 11:39 a.m. Friday, Round Rock Fire Department crews responded to a report of a fire at the Westwind Apartments, 1221 Chisholm Valley Drive. The fire was contained within about 30 minutes. The Fire Department is working with the apartment management company to find temporary housing for the approximately 28 displaced residents. There is no damage estimate or suspected cause of the fire at this time, as crews are still on the scene.

The Cedar Park Fire Department and the Sam Bass Volunteer Fire Department assisted RRFD.

At 10:09 p.m. Thursday, July 11, Round Rock Fire Department units responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 607 Saunders Drive.

The first fire department units arrived at 10:15 p.m. and saw light smoke coming from the eaves of the residence. All occupants evacuated the residence and the fire was quickly brought under control. Damage is estimated at $20,000 for the structure and contents. The cause of the fire was related to unattended smoking materials.
