Round Rock’s popular community shredding event is back! Shred for a Paws Cause will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at the Bob Bennett Building, 3400 Sunrise Road.
This free event offers secure shredding of personal documents and media while supporting a great cause. Attendees can bring up to five standard-sized file boxes of documents and 10 media items—including hard drives, CDs, floppy disks, and checkbooks—for safe, off-site destruction.
While the shredding is free, participants are encouraged to bring donations for the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Suggested items include:
- Cat litter and carriers
- Dog and cat toys
- Pill pockets
- Hypoallergenic dog shampoo
- Monetary donations or items from the Shelter’s wish list — learn more
All shredded paper is recycled, making this event both pet-friendly and eco-friendly. Since its start in 2013, the event has helped recycle over 206,000 pounds of material and raised thousands of dollars and supplies for shelter animals.
Note: The 2025 event was originally scheduled for April 5 and has been moved to April 12.
