Families invited to learn Water You Drinking?

Get to know your water and the people who bring it to you at the “Water You Drinking?” event on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9, at the City’s Water Treatment Plant.

Starting at 3 p.m. both days, families will have the opportunity to explore unique utility vehicles and equipment, see teams assemble fire hydrants, test their lab skills on the City’s water and get a rare glimpse inside active wastewater lines to see how they’re inspected for obstructions. The event will end with a full-length tour of Round Rock’s water treatment plant, starting at 4 p.m. Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to complete a Tour Request Form to reserve a spot for the tour.

This festivity aims to provide a fun and engaging way for Round Rock families to get to know more about their water and the people who bring it to them. There will also be a prize drawing, refreshments and informational booths with fun games, giveaways and more.

Round Rock’s Water Treatment Plant is located on Westinghouse Road. Attendees should head west on Westinghouse Road from I-35, go straight at the stop sign, turn left after crossing train tracks, take a right in between the two water tanks and proceed to the last building on the left.
