RRFD responds to structure fire Thursday evening

The Round Rock Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire that resulted in the death of one animal Thursday evening. No residents or responders received injuries.

At 7:48 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, six units responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 2100 block of Redwing Way.

The first units arrived on scene at 7:54 p.m. Initial reports from arriving companies advised that there was fire in the garage and that it flames could be seen coming through the roof.  At the time of the fire, three dogs occupied the home, and one dog succumbed to its injuries.

As a result of the fire, the home will likely be a total loss.

The Round Rock Fire Department received assistance from the Round Rock Police Department, Round Rock Animal Control and Williamson County EMS.

At this time, the cause of the fire appears accidental in nature and remains under investigation.
