The application window for the 2026 historic tax exemptions was January 1 – April 30. The HPC voted on its recommendation to City Council regarding the exemptions at its May 19 meeting.

The first reading of the exemption ordinance will be considered at the June 11 City Council meeting. If the Council does not dispense with the second reading it will be at the July 9 City Council meeting.

Applicants will be notified about the status of their exemption and sent a copy of their 2026 inspection reports by July 31. If applicants wish to challenge any items in the inspection report they must do so by September 1.
