LCRA in early stages of transmission line planning

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LRCA) is proposing to add electric transmission infrastructure connecting power substations in Round Rock and Leander. The City of Round Rock has been asked to assist with information gathering such as environmental and development land use by the LCRA to help them formulate potential routes. The Texas Public Utility Commission is the organization that determines the final route of the new transmission line.

At this early planning stage, the LCRA has not proposed specific routes to connect the two substations. Here is information the City of Round Rock received, which includes an area map indicating the two substations and the development process of this project. The City will share the information requested by the LCRA when it is completed.
