Library book drop construction completed

UPDATE: August 6, 2024 at 3 p.m.

Construction on the exterior book drop is complete. Patrons are able to return books and materials using the drive-through book drop return on N. Lampasas Street.

Beginning Tuesday, July 30, the Round Rock Public Library will begin construction on the exterior book drop return.  As a result, the exterior book drop will be unavailable for library patrons to drop off their materials. This project is anticipated to take at least three days (up to seven days) to complete. Because the exterior book return is connected to the interior book return, there will be periods when both return slots will be unavailable.

Why are you doing construction on the exterior book drop?

The construction on the exterior book drop is being done to assist those that utilize our drive-through book return service on the outside of our building. The book drop is being extended to allow patrons to easily drop-off materials.

How long will the book drop be under construction?

We anticipate that the book drop will be under construction for at least three days — up to seven days.

What do I do with my library materials during this time?

We encourage our visitors to bring their materials inside the library. There will be carts available to place your materials.

What will happen to my materials once they are returned?

Library staff will manually check in materials during this time to ensure your items are not considered late.

How can I help?

Most of all, we ask for your patience with our staff. Our library circulates a large amount of items. Staff will be manually checking each item. We know you appreciate our library staff. This is time when you can show your appreciation by following the instructions posted inside the building.

We appreciate your patience during this construction period of the library’s book drop. If you have any questions, please contact us 512-218-7000.
