New appointees to the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s Board of Health

The Round Rock City Council and Williamson County Commissioners Court recently filled vacant positions on the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s Board of Health. The new members to the Board of Health are Marketing Executive Selicia Sanchez of Round Rock and Attorney Wayne E. Cavalier of Jarrell.

Selicia Sanchez has lived in Round Rock for more than 20 years and was appointed to represent the City of Round Rock on the Board of Health. She graduated from Round Rock High School, Austin Community College with an AS in Business Administration, and Texas State University in San Marcos earning a BBA in Finance. After graduating from Texas State, Sanchez worked in the corporate world for five years before exploring her own entrepreneurial endeavors. She is now the Owner and CEO of Think Group Austin, one of Austin’s leading full service market research firms in the field of qualitative research.

Wayne Cavalier is a practicing attorney in Jarrell, Texas. Cavalier holds a Bachelor’s Degree in history from the University of Maryland, a Master’s Degree from Texas State, and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer IV after 28 years of service. Since his retirement from the Army, Cavalier has worked as a college and high school teacher, computer specialist, and served as the City of Jarrell’s first mayor and municipal judge. Cavalier has been married for over 30 years to Cyndi P. Cavalier, of Waterloo, Iowa. They have three children including son, Travis, and daughters Caitlyn and Kyra.

About the Board of Health
The Board of Health serves as the governing body and administrative public health board for Williamson County and member cities with the authority to adopt rules necessary and appropriate to promote and preserve the health of the public. Board directors serve without compensation for staggered three-year terms.
